bathtime-for-little-rabbit-594x600

This is a fun follow-up to Tickle my ears. What I love about this wee board book is that readers are encouraged to interact with little rabbit and participate in his bath time routine. Children are able to help rabbit as he takes his bath.

After his bath rabbit needs more help, especially when it comes to getting dry. Lots of chances for little ones to purse their lips and blow. Rabbit is cute and just plain gorgeous and this will be a favourite not just for wee ones but for parents too. While Tickle my ears was a fun interactive read for setting up a bedtime routine, little rabbit’s latest book will be great for helping set up a bath time routine. Young ones see just how easy and safe it is to have a bath and have heaps of fun too. A lovely, warm and reassuring book to share and enjoy.

pencil

The pencil is a delightful wordless board book. A little girl finds a piece of string and lets her imagination soar as she follows it. I adore how she discovers, hoops, bubbles and even a monkey on her journey. However, like all good imaginations, hers also finds trouble. I love her smiles and sheer delight in the world she creates.

This is a simple but gorgeous, funny and creative board book to be read over and over. However, don’t be fooled. The book does not end on the last page. Turn to the back cover and enjoy the real ending. Perfect choice for young ones.

wolf

“An interactive boardbook for toddlers.”

Wolf is on his way to catch you, quite possibly with the intention of gobbling you up for dinner.  But readers can follow simple instructions to avoid being caught. This is a bigger than average board book with a bright yellow cover and title in red. A bold warning to the reader that danger is lurking. On the cover Wolf is very small but as we turn each page Wolf gets bigger and bigger as he comes closer and closer. Close enough to catch the reader.

I was reading this book at my desk at lunch time in the school library today. Even though it is a board book for very young children, a group of 10 year old girls gathered around me, so I read the book out loud. The crowd grew. As we followed the directions, “turn the page” or  “tip the book” etc the children began to giggle. And when I slammed the book shut to trap the wolf, they all laughed. A lovely sound!

“That’s so cool” said one. And “So funny” said another.

So this book isn’t just for pre-schoolers but is good for everyone. Younger ones no doubt will get the most of this being read again and again.  This is not out until May but it is one to watch out for.

Board Book

original

This is a great new board book for wee ones. It has bright bold illustrations of a wolf getting dressed in the morning. At the start wolf introduces himself stating “Hello! I am the big bad wolf”. Item by item, wolf puts on his clothes beginning with his underpants and when he is completely dressed he …! Why would I tell you what he does? You will just have to read it for yourself but it will delight young ones. Even adults will have a giggle. A good one for Christmas – which isn’t that far away.
